INDUCCIÓN A LA SÍNTESIS DE VITELOGENINA PLASMÁTICA EN MACHOS DE PEJELAGARTO (Atractosteus tropicus) MEDIANTE EL USO DE 17 ß ESTRADIOL

Resumen

La vitelogenina (Vg) es una fosfolipoglicoproteína con alto peso molecular, característica de las hembras debido a su utilización en como vitelo en el ovocito, constituyendo una reserva energética para los primeros estadios de desarrollo del individuo. Se realizó la inducción a la síntesis de Vg en ocho machos, juveniles de "Atractosteus tropicus" (600-800 g) de primera madurez. Los resultados indican que los machos inducidos con el tratamiento de 17 β estradiol produjeron la proteína característica que corresponde a la Vg desde la segunda inyección hasta la última al día 25 post tratamiento. Estos resultados indican la posibilidad de inducción a la síntesis de Vg en juveniles machos de pejelagarto, la producción de esta proteína abre la posibilidad a estudios que involucren la medición, manipulación y extracción de Vg.
