Abstract

The main pillars that support natural tourism are the natural environment and the human factor. Suppose the aim is to obtain a positive result from tourism, especially that based on nature. In that case, it is necessary to consider aspects that allow the sustainable interaction of natural resources, tourists, and host populations. The purpose of this analysis is to propose how the tourism limits obtained in tourism carrying capacity studies serve as a reference to assess whether or not an ecosystem can recover from tourism disturbances and identify those factors that help strengthen the capacities of receiving communities. The results show the load capacity of each of the places destined for tourists, as well as the management capacity of the receiving society. This study provides information on the potential for ecological resilience of the site and the maximum number of visitors that this place supports.
